The Chromomagnetic Dipole Operator and the B Semileptonic Branching Ratio
نویسندگان
چکیده
We consider the possibility of having a large branching ratio for the decay b → sg coming from an enhanced Wilson coefficient of the chromomagnetic dipole operator. We show that values of BR(b → sg) up to ∼ 10% or more are compatible with the constraints coming from the CLEO experimental results on BR(B → Xsγ) and BR(B → Xsφ). Such large values can reconcile the predictions of both the semileptonic branching ratio and the charm counting with the present experimental results. We also discuss a supersymmetric model with gluino-mediated flavour violations, which can account for such large values of BR(b → sg). How to trap a non-standard penguin? Isospin Symmetry Violations in B-decays with Enhanced Chromomagnetic Dipole Operator
A recently proposed Non-Standard Model solution to the problem of low semileptonic branching ratio BSL which suggests a large branching ratio for the decay b → sg is critically examined. It is shown that the effects of the Enhanced Chromomagnetic Dipole Operator might lead to significant violations of isospin symmetry in rare radiative decays of B-mesons. Typeset using REVTEX 1 It has been rece...
متن کاملComplete ( O 7 , O 8 ) contribution to B̄ → X s γ at O ( α 2 s )
We calculate the set of O(αs) corrections to the branching ratio and to the photon energy spectrum of the decay process B̄ → Xsγ originating from the interference of diagrams involving the electromagnetic dipole operator O7 with diagrams involving the chromomagnetic dipole operator O8. The corrections evaluated here are one of the elements needed to complete the calculations of the B̄ → Xsγ branc...
متن کاملImplications of TeV Flavor Physics for the ∆
Two of the outstanding discrepancies between weak interaction phenomenology and the standard model come in the large size of the ∆I = 1 2 enhancement inK decays and in the small value of the B semileptonic branching ratio. We argue that these discrepancies are naturally explained by chromomagnetic dipole operators arising from new physics at the TeV scale. These operators are closely connected ...
متن کاملAn analysis of two - body non - leptonic B decays involving light mesons in the Standard Model
We report a theoretical analysis of the exclusive non-leptonic decays of the B and B mesons into two light mesons, some of which have been measured recently by the CLEO collaboration. Our analysis is carried out in the context of an effective Hamiltonian based on the Standard Model (SM), using next-to-leading order perturbative QCD calculations. We explicitly take into account the O(αs) penguin...
متن کاملB decays into two light pseudoscalar mesons and possible effects of enhanced b → sg
We consider the branching ratios and CP asymmetry in the B meson decays into two pseudoscalar mesons in the generalized factorization approximation. We also investigate the possible effects of the enhanced chromomagnetic interaction b → sg on these exclusive B meson decays that was suggested as a possible solution to the semileptonic branching ratio of B mesons, the missing charm puzzle and the...
